what i don’t understand is that maya/lm stans refuse to believe that Maya might make a mistake, that Maya might be wrong, that Maya might be struggling with her identity . But when it comes to Riley she is almost always wrong, she doesn’t understand her feelings, she doesn’t understand Maya, etc. what makes good characters is the fact that they are flawed. The reason why I prefer Riley slightly over Maya (I still love Maya, don’t get me wrong) is BC Maya is consistently idolized by the fandom and the show itself. I wish people gave Riley more credit. I wish they’d stop talking about her like she is a dumb child who doesn’t understand anything. I wish they’d realize she is more than “an obstacle in the way of Lucas choosing Maya”. I wish people would realize that both girls are flawed and say mean things sometimes or are wrong but the show is, at the end of the day, about the beautiful friendship between them.
